Educational activities of Nikola Kallay
Professor Nikola Kallay is teaching Physical Chemistry and Colloid Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. He is also visiting professor at School of Environmental Sciences (Nova Gorica, Slovenia) and Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School (Ljubljana, Slovenia).
In the field of education he collaborates with Professor Tomislav Cvitaš. They were active in International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and are coauthors of the Green Book which was translated to seven languages, and is one of the most successful publications of IUPAC.
N. Kallay and T. Cvitaš took initiative in introducing of quantity calculus in chemistry. They wrote several educational articles and textbooks for high schools.
Contributions of N. Kallay to education were recognized by Certificate of Recognition from Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, 2006 and Letter of Appreciation from the students of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, 2007.
On the occasion of the 65th birthday of Professor Kallay Croatica Chemica Acta have published the Festschrift (Vol. 80, No. 3-4, 2007). This issue includes detailed description of his activities and achievements.
